Bandipora Apr 27:- Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha visited the Odina Sumbal Migrant colony on Thursday and handed over the keys to 14 towers to the Kashmiri Hindu migrant employees.
Speaking to the reporters on the sidelines of a function LG Manoj Sinha, said that the returning of Bollywood in Kashmir valley is a sign of peace and will boost employment and economy in the region.
The transit accommodation has been constructed at a cost of Rs 57.60 crores and comprises 480 flats in 30 blocks.Each block is four-storied, with four flats on each storey, totaling up to 16 flats in one block. The structure is an RCC framed structure with arrangements for lifts provided. The construction of these flats will provide a safe and secure dwelling to the migrant employees, who have faced several hardships in the past.
He also said that the Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan has arrived in Kashmir to shoot for his upcoming movie. According to him, nearly 300 films have been shot in Kashmir in the last one year, and it feels like the 80s when film shooting was a regular feature in the valley. This is a positive sign for the local film industry and will boost tourism in the region.
He further said that Yesterday, Raj Kumar Hirani, a film producer, met him to discuss the opportunities for film shooting in Kashmir. The government’s efforts to provide safe and secure dwellings to the migrant employees and promote film shooting in the region are commendable and will go a long way in the development of the valley.
