FIR lodged, investigation on: Police

Shopian, Feb 02 : In a shocking incident a Job Card scam has come to fore in Heerpora village in Shopian district here on Tuesday.
The locals have alleged that as many as 91 minor students have provided with fake job card following which they have lodged an FIR in this regard.
“One of my children was filling a scholarship form, however, they were told they are not eligible for the scholarship as they have been provided with a job card”, said Mushtaq Ahmad, a locale.
He added, “We can to know about this yesterday, following we investigated on our own and now it turned out to be a big scam where innocent minors are duped with fake promises”.
“The age of 7 years old has been shown as 42, which is an utter shame and I am pretty sure that many people are involved in this scheme.
Meanwhile, we went to SSP Shopian, who asked us to reach SHO Heerpora, who assured that legal action will be taken against the culprit as soon as possible”, he added.
A senior police official told Kashmir Despatch that an FIR has been lodged in Heerpora PS with FIR no. 02/2020 under section 406,409,419,420 Ipc, whereas further investigation is underway.
