Locals Halt Macadamisation Work due to Sub Standard Construction in Palhallan

Pattan : Agitated over substandard quality Macdemisation, residents of palhallan pattan halted construction work in Palhallan area of Pattan block of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district .
The Villagers of Palhallan alleged using of substandard material in tge ongoing macadamisation work on around 3 km road stretch of from Jammu and Kashmir bank to Tantray pora, Chek Jamal mir (railway) have started to come out.
During the protest, the locals halted the road construction work and questioned to authorities that “Check the road which they macadamised? they even didn’t clean the dust, they came and stretch substandard macadam on it, they have put down only two inches macdam on the road. “
“The road construction is of poor quality. The contractor is not willing to listen to us. We even stopped the vehicles passing-by to protest against such road construction,” a local resident adil ahmad.
They demand the road should be constructed strictly as per the guidelines issued by the R&B authorities.
The local people alleged, “The local contractors who have been engaged in the construction work actually have no idea of construction of road which has resulted in immediate cracks, faults and falling of blocks of the road due to lack of compaction.”
Meanwhile the protesters appealed to higher ups to look into the matter and threatened to intensify protest if the road is not constructed properly.
