Majid Gojri of Chattabal killed by TRF militants in October last year: Police

Srinagar, Jul 29 : The Juvenile Justice Board, Srinagar has framed charges against one child in conflict with law (name withheld) against whom charge sheet was filed by the State Investigating Agency (SIA) on 23-06-2022 in case pertaining to killing of a Chattabal youth.

The CCL along with two militants of TRF Mehran Shalla of Jamallata Nawakadal Srinagar and Basit Rashid Dar of Redwani Payeen Kulgam were found involved by the investigating agency in the murder of one civilian Majid Ahmad Gojri of Chattabal Srinagar, who was killed inside Madina Complex Srinagar in broad day light in October last year, a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) reads.

The initial investigation of the case under FIR number 67/2021 U/S 302,120-B IPC, 7/27 I.A Act, 16, 18,19,20,38 UA (P) Act of P/S Karan Nagar Srinagar was carried out by District Police Srinagar and subsequently on 23102021, an SIT of CID/SIA was constituted to further investigate the case, the statement said.

“The SIT headed by a Deputy Superintendent of Police worked out the case and apprehended the CCL. The murder of Majid Gojri had caused a furore on social media as Majid was a popular face in Downtown Srinagar.”

“Initially, there had been rumours that Majid had been killed by a rival gang; however, the investigation carried out by SIA has clearly indicted militants of TRF in the murder,” it added—(KNO)
