Man drowns into river at Handwara’s Langate, rescue operation on

Handwara, Mar 07 : A 37-year-old resident of Langate, Handwara in Kupwara district, drowned while extracting sand into a river at Mawer area on Monday, prompting authorities to start rescue operation.

Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that the man identified as Muhammad Amin Bhat son of Ghulam Mohiudin Bhat of Langate drowned in the river near Daand Kadal area while extracting sand.

Soon after the incident, the officials said that a rescue operation was launched immediately. Search to fish the body was on—(KNO)
