Man held along with illicit codeine in Central Kashmir’s Budgam

Budgam, Feb 24 : Police in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Wednesday claimed to have arrested a drug peddler along with illicit codeine phosphate.

Police sources said that during naka checking which was laid on near Ghat Narbal area of the district, Narbal police apprehended a drug peddler and recovered 48 bottles of banned codeine phosphate from his possession.

Sources identified the accused as Gulzar Ahmad Bhat son of Abdul Khaliq, a resident of Ghat Narbal village of Budgam.

Police have registered a case under FIR number 21/2021 under sections 8/22 of NDPS Act in Police Station Magam and have initiated further investigations. (KDC)
