Baramulla, April 19 : Authorities in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Monday made opening of petrol pumps during night hours mendatory.
In an order of which a copy lies with Kashmir Despatch reads, All petrol/ diesel pump dealers of district Baramulla are ordered to remain open during night hours to meet out the emergency situations.
Locals have complained that the petrol and diesel pumps remain close during night hours which creates problems in various critical situations. The non availability of staff at petrol pumps have also saddened the locals.
The practice has been viewed seriously by the District administration and had made it mandatory for all petrol/diesel pump dealers to remain open during night hours so that the locals may not suffer.
The petrol/diesel pump dealers have been warned for any complaint for the night closure or the non availability of staff during night hours. And, action as per norms will be taken against the petrol pump dealer and a case will be registered for the cancellation of the petrol pump licence the order further reads.
