SRINAGAR, Sept 30: Manzoor Ahmad Rather has been elected president of the JK Radio Taxi Drivers Association following the re-election held on Sunday, September 27, 2026.
The election was conducted after the resignation of former president Shabeer Ahmad Basmatti. According to the election results notification issued by the association, the re-election was held specifically for the post of president, while the other executive positions remained unchanged.
The newly constituted executive body will serve a two-year term with effect from the date of the election. Shaheen Ahmad Sheikh has been appointed Vice President, while Irfan Ahmad Gojri will serve as General Secretary.
Inayat Bashir Mir has been elected Accountant, Majid Altaf Secretary, Riyaz Ahmad Bhat Organizer and Nasir Mukhtar Bhat Public Organizer.
The association said that elections for all the listed executive positions will be conducted again after completion of the two-year term.
The election results were formally notified by the Public Organiser/Secretary of the JK Radio Taxi Drivers Association.
