Masoodi Writes Amit Shah for release of detainees

Srinagar Mar 23: Member Parliament and National Conference Leader Hasnain Masoodi urged Union Home Minister Amit Shah for release of detainees booked under Public Safety Act who are Presently lodged in different jails in various parts of Country because of present fragile situation arisen after COVID-19.

Masoodi the Lok Sabha member from South Kashmir, in his letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, has sought the release of all prisoners who have been detained after the abrogation of Article 370, to ease their sufferings.

“Sir lockdown and restrictions Imposed on travel and Traffic to Combat the COVID-19 crises would make it impossible for the relatives to visit the detained lodged a few hundred miles from his home. Resentently the distance would be exposed to immense physiological distress and his valuable constituent right defeated” The letter reads which has been tweeted by JKNS twitter handle of which copy is in possession with this newspaper.

Meanwhile, this was the second Communication letter from National Conference leaders as recently the National Conference President and Member Parliament from Srinagar Dr. Farooq Abdullah after his release has written to Prime Minister of India regarding restoration of high-speed 4G internet services because of COVID-19.
