Sopore : In wake of the holy month of Muharram and ahead of Muharram procession, the municipal council Sopore has started fumigation and cleanliness drives in several Shia dominated areas of north Kashmir’s Sopore subdivision.
The municipal council Sopore employees were seen fumigating Shia dominated areas especially Saidpora,Bohripora, Hygam, and Bulgam ahead of the Muharram procession.
An official said that with the spike in Covid-19 cases in Baramulla district, extraordinary measures are being taken to prevent the spread of the virus in the areas.
“Ahead of the Muharram procession, extraordinary measures are being taken to prevent spread of virus and as a part of clean and green Sopore, a cleanliness and fumigation drive was held in shia dominated areas of Sopore and its outskirts. Such drives will be held in future also,” the official said.
The official said that every facility will be kept available by Municipal Council Sopore for the people of Shia community.
