Srinagar: ICDS Project Khanyar Srinagar, in collaboration with Socio Economic Empowerment of Kashmir Society (SEEKS) NGO, organised a Mega Cultural-cum-Awareness IEC Campaign under the Poshan Abhiyan at Miskeen Bagh, Srinagar.
The programme was aimed at promoting awareness about nutrition, health, child development and the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle among the community.
A large number of Supervisors, Anganwadi Workers (AWWs), Anganwadi Helpers and ASHA workers participated in the awareness programme.
On the occasion, motivational speaker and Chairman of SEEKS NGO, Rahim Rizwan Reshi, highlighted the significance of Information, Education and Communication (IEC) activities under Poshan Abhiyan. He stressed the need for sustained community participation to spread awareness about proper nutrition, maternal and child health, and healthy living practices.
CDPO Khanyar, Akeel Ahmad Pandit, who was the Chief Guest on the occasion, reviewed the ongoing activities of ICDS Project Khanyar Srinagar. He appreciated the efforts of ICDS functionaries and frontline workers for taking the objectives of Poshan Abhiyan to the grassroots level.
A colourful cultural programme comprising Nukad Natak and folk songs based on the theme of Poshan Abhiyan was presented by Rishi Cultural Forum Society (RCF). Through meaningful performances, the artists conveyed important messages regarding nutrition, health and child well-being to the audience.
The programme concluded with a renewed call for collective efforts to strengthen awareness about nutrition and ensure the effective implementation of Poshan Abhiyan at the community level.
