Medical Fraternity Unites Against Terror, Demands Justice & Peace

SRINAGAR, Nov 22:
The Medical Faculty Association (MFA) of Government Medical and Dental College (GMC/GDC) Srinagar on Wednesday led a united front of Jammu & Kashmir’s medical fraternity in strongly condemning the bomb blast that occurred near the Red Fort in New Delhi on November 10, 2025, which resulted in the tragic loss of innocent lives and left many injured. In a powerful statement, the MFA expressed deep anguish and unwavering solidarity with the victims and their families.
Terming the attack “agonizingly painful and deeply disturbing with no acceptance in any civilized society,” the MFA said that no ideology or grievance can justify an act that takes innocent lives and spreads fear. The Association raised serious concerns over reports alleging the involvement of certain individuals belonging to the medical profession in the incident, stating that such an act, if proven, would be a direct assault on the sanctity of a noble field dedicated to saving lives.
“The MFA expresses deep concern over the alleged involvement of some medical professionals, desecrating the sanctity of this noble profession, and reaffirms its unwavering and collective commitment to saving lives and serving humanity above everything else,” the statement read.
The condemnation note was issued on behalf of the MFA by its office bearers including President Prof. Sajad Khanday, Vice President Dr. Riyaz Ahmad Lone, General Secretary Dr. Syed Sajad Hussain, Joint Secretary Dr. Ashiq Hussain Parry, Treasurer Dr. Nisar Ahmad Naikoo, alongside senior faculty members.
SCDJ&K Joins Condemnation, Calls for Calm & Accountability
Joining the chorus of condemnation, the Society of Consultant Doctors J&K (SCDJ&K) also strongly denounced the blast in its statement numbered SCD/2025/PR/1. The organisation, headed by President Dr. Owaiss H Dar, expressed “profound anguish over the loss of innocent lives” and urged the public to remain united against forces of violence and extremism.
Dr. Owaiss H Dar, President SCDJ&K, said:
“The loss of innocent lives is a wound to the entire country. The medical community is deeply disturbed by reports of alleged involvement of individuals from the medical profession. If proven true, this represents a grave betrayal of the ethics and sacred duties of healing.”
Calling for strong legal action, he added:
“We have full faith in the justice system and demand strict action against those found guilty. Violence in any form cannot weaken our resolve to serve humanity with dignity.”
Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) Voices Outrage
In a separate statement numbered DAK/NOV/2025, the Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) led by President Dr. Mohammad Yousuf Tak strongly condemned the blast and expressed shock over the incident.
Describing the attack as a “horrifying act of violence”, Dr. Mohammad Yousuf Tak said:
“Our hearts go out to the families who are grieving. Reports alleging the involvement of individuals connected to the medical field are extremely distressing, and we demand that the law take its strict course without leniency.”
Reaffirming the medical profession’s core values, he added:
“Doctors have always worked with humanity, compassion and service above everything, and we will continue to follow these values in every situation. Such acts of terror cannot break our determination to protect and serve our society and our nation.”
United Resolve Against Extremism
All three bodies — MFA, SCDJ&K and DAK — highlighted that violence and terror can never overpower courage, compassion and unity, and pledged to defend the ethics of healing even in the most challenging times. They urged the public to remain calm, vigilant and united against extremist forces.
Investigations into the blast are ongoing, and further details are awaited from the authorities.
