MGNREGA job card holders demand release of pending wages on Eid-ul-Fitr in South Kashmir

Anantnag, May 22: Demanding release of wages before Eid ul Fitr scores of MGNREGA job card holders on Friday held a protest demonstration in southern region of Kashmir.

Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said scores of MGNREGA job card holders of Rural Development Department (RDD) staged a protest at Larnoo village of south Kashmir on Friday.

While demanding release of their pending wages, the protestors said Nowbug Block is pending while wages for other blocks have been released.

The protestors also alleged that some funds under MGNREGA scheme have been made to some selected persons, who were having hand in glove with the previous concerned authorities.

Meanwhile, Block Development officer Larnoo Muzaffar Hussain when contacted told this newspaper that, field report has been not submitted yet due to which their wages are pending, he said once report will be submitted accordingly department will release their wages.
