New Delhi, October 4: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has directed all segments of the AGMUT cadre to report within 48 hours any FIR, arrest, adverse court order or action by investigating agencies involving IAS, IPS, DANICS and DANIPS officers.
The directive covers the AGMUT cadre comprising Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram and the Union Territories, and is aimed at ensuring timely reporting of legal and disciplinary proceedings involving officers.
According to the directive, cadre segments must inform the MHA about cases involving officers within 48 hours of the development.
The move comes after observations that local departments had frequently failed to promptly report investigations or actions by agencies including the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).
The MHA has also asked all AGMUT segments to submit details and relevant documents concerning pending disciplinary cases by October 15. The submissions have to clearly indicate whether each case is at the pre-charge-sheet or post-charge-sheet stage.
The directive is part of efforts to strengthen monitoring of disciplinary and legal proceedings against officers under the AGMUT cadre and ensure that such cases are communicated to the Centre without delay.
The AGMUT cadre includes officers serving across Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram and the Union Territories, with services including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, Daman and Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli Civil Services (DANICS), and the corresponding police service, DANIPS.
