Militant hideout busted in Bandipora

Bandipora : Aasam Rifles busted a hideout and recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition in Nagmarg forest in North Kashmir’s Bandipora.

An official told Kashmir Despatch that acting on a specific tip off about presence of a militant hideout an operation was launched by Army’s 26 Assam Rifles in the forests of Nagmarg Bandipora.

During the search operation, a large quantum of arms and ammunition were recovered from the hideout which includes 10 UBGL rounds and 02 Chinese grenades and other incriminating material.

The search operation yielded recovery of a huge cache of arms and ammunition including grenades and UBGL rounds which has averted a major tragedy and recovery will be beneficial in ensuring and maintaining peace in the area the official added.
