Sopore, July 12 : A militant has been killed in an ongoing gunfight that broke out in Reban area of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district at wee hours of Sunday.
Kashmir Despatch learnt from official sources that a mixture of forces sealed Reban village of Sopore after receiving specific information about the presence of militants.
He said the search operation turned into a gunfight after militants fired on a search party of the forces, who retaliated.
A senior Police officer told Kashmir Despatch that one militant has been killed in the operation. However, the identity of the slain militant is yet to be ascertained.
Pertinent to mention here the operation is a joint of Army’s 22 RR SOG and CRPF.
