Srinagar, Dec 30 : Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbagh Singh on Thursday said the security forces in the Kashmir valley has reduced the “shelf life” of militants.
As per Kashmir Despatch Correspondent, In a press conference at J&K Police headquarters Jammu DGP said that the active life of a militant has come down. He said success in operations has led to the large number of militant killing this year.
“He said there has been a decrease in the number of civilian killings this year. “As many as 38 civilians were killed this year as compared to 44 last year,”
DGP said there has been a slight increase in the number of youth joining molitant ranks in comparison to 2019.
“However, the positive aspect is that 70 percent of them were either killed or arrested.
The DGP said that “there has been a high degree of incidents of infiltration attempts from across the border this year and also ceasefire violations. But security forces have successfully foiled these attempted and is lowest in the last three-four years.
The police chief added that after failed to inflitarte this side militants had focused on local recruits.
