Mirchi 98.3 FM Continues Digi Dakku Cyber Awareness Campaign in Kashmir

Mirchi 98.3 FM radio station has rolled out a proactive cyber awareness campaign dubbed Digi Dakku in response to the escalating incidence of cybercrime, particularly prevalent in Kashmir. Despite initially being launched as a month-long initiative, the campaign shows no signs of slowing down. With an ongoing commitment to combating cybercrime, the campaign, led by RJs Vijdan and Mehak, continues to educate and engage the public about the evolving landscape of digital scams in the region.

Listeners are encouraged to share their experiences with cyber scams, underscoring the widespread impact of such crimes. With insights from professionals and legal experts, the campaign remains a vital resource for understanding and addressing cyber threats in Jammu and Kashmir.

Fronted by RJs Vijdan and Mehak, the month-long initiative encourages listeners to share their personal encounters with cyber scams, ranging from lottery fraud to sim fraud and meta scams targeting small business owners and retirees.

RJ Mehak revealed that a staggering 80 percent of respondents to an online poll admitted to either being victims of cyber scams or knowing someone who had fallen prey to such schemes.

In conversation with, RJ Vijdan emphasized the alarming rise in cybercrime cases, particularly in Jammu and Kashmir, underscoring the necessity of the Digi Dakku campaign to raise awareness about evolving cybercrime tactics. He expressed optimism that the campaign would empower people to recognize and thwart cyber threats, while also encouraging individuals to report any cybercrime incidents to the appropriate authorities.

To dissect the complexities of digital scams, Mirchi 98.3 enlisted the expertise of professionals, including a seasoned banker specializing in OTP scams and phishing attempts. Cyber expert Sheikh Asif provided insights into safeguarding social media accounts and navigating prevalent scams such as matrimonial and job scams.

Legal perspectives were also offered by Advocate Romaan Muneeb, who elucidated cybercrime laws and avenues for protection. The campaign extended its reach across various digital platforms, collaborating with influencers and legal experts to share stories and legal remedies.

Additionally, digital capsules featuring experts and user-generated content were utilized to disseminate vital information on the rise of cybercrime, aiming to equip the community with knowledge and vigilance against online threats.
