SRINAGAR, July 12: Emotional scenes were witnessed on Sunday at Khaag Budgam after a man, who had gone missing 18-years before, returned home.

Ghulam Mohidin Shah was around 40 when he had left home 18 years back.

He had to go Saudi Arabia to work there. Since then the family had lost contact with him. The family members launched extensive searches for him but failed to get any clues about his whereabouts. The family searched him everywhere from Delhi to Mumbai but could not find him. But today he returned home on his own and everyone was surprised to see him alive,” one of his relatives told news agency (KINS). “After searching for years, the family presumed he had died. We don’t know where he was during these years.,” he said.

As the news of his home coming spread, elders, youth and children came to see him. Elders were eager to see how he was looking after 18 years. He was given a hearty welcome. The family members burst into tears after finding him alive. It was not immediately known where he was over these years. The man now looks old and his beard has turned white.

A police official confirmed to news agency that he had gone missing in 2002. “We are investigating where he was over these years,” the official added.(KINS)
