Mobile services to be restored this week in Kashmir

Srinagar : In a bid to restore normalcy further, the Centre is likely to restore mobile services in the Valley this week.


A senior government official told Kashmir Despatch that in the initial phase BSNL postpaid mobile services will be restored most probably after 28 September.


If the situation remains normal, the decision to restore other cellular networks will be taken accordingly,” he told Kashmir Despatch.


A top police officer also confirmed this development to this newspaper and said that all efforts are being made to restore mobile services in Kashmir in the coming few days.


He, however added that there is no decision taken as yet to start internet services. “We would analyze the situation further before restoring internet services.


Pertainally, The internet has remained suspended in J&K from August 4 onwards, a day before the decision to abrogate Article 370 was taken.
