Mother of Slain Militant Arrested During a Raid in Kashmir

Srinagar, June 28 : The family of Tawseef Ahmed Sheikh, a slain Militant of Hizb ul Mujahideen has alleged that the mother of the slain Militant has been arrested from her residence in Rampora area of Redwani in South Kashmir’s Kulgam District reported news portal The Kashmiriyat.


News portal reported a family member alleged that Naseema Akhtar wife of Abdul Salam Sheikh was arrested during a raid at her house in the Rampora area in Kulgam district on Wednesday afternoon.


She was detained by the Police during a cordon and search operation,”The Police were looking for her daughter also.”

The family of the Militant alleged that she was forcibly picked up from her house by Government Forces.


Police officer has confirmed the arrest to news portal as saying that she has been detained in connection with a case registered against her. “we also recovered some anti National posters from her possession during the search operation.”


He said that her daughter (name withheld) is also accused in an FIR, but she is still absconding, adding that she is lodged in the women’s cell at a Police Station.


The Locals in the area condemned the arrest and demanded her immediate release alleging that the Male Police arrested her reported news portal.


Tawseef Ahmed Sheikh was killed in the same encounter in which Professor Mohammed Rafi Bhat was killed on May 06, 2018.
