Bandipore, Jan 04 : The court of divisional commissioner Kashmir has stayed no-confidence motion against the incumbent president municipal committee Bandipore after the latter approached his court.
According to wire service, the court of divisional commissioner Kashmir has set aside the proceedings of no-confidence motion against president MC Bandipore after he approached the court.
The motion was moved by 11 elected councilors against the incumbent president Khursheed Ahmad Ganai, however, he got the motion stayed by the court of divisional commissioner Kashmir.
According to the order issued by divisional commissioner Kashmir the parties in the case have been asked to maintain status-quo.
“Application seeking setting aside of the proceedings of deputy commissioner Bandipore on the basis of no confidence motion moved by some councillors. Admitted. Issue notice notice to the other side and fix for hearing. In the meanwhile, parties to maintain status-quo, ” read the order issued by the court of divisional commissioner Kashmir.
The court has also directed the executive officer MC Bandipore to attend the court today on 04 January.
Khursheed Ganai had filed the application for staying the proceedings after majority of the councillors moved a no-confidence motion against him alleging him of not delivering his duties.
The councillors had accused him of incompetence and incapability in delivering his duties, saying that there has been no visible development on ground in the town during his one year tenure as president MC Bandipore. The MC Bandipore has 17 wards out of which 15 have elected councillors while two had remained vacant after local body election were held last year.
Khursheed was unanimously elected as President MC Bandipore while Basharat Hussain was elected as vice-president, both representing the Congress party. (KNO)
