Srinagar, 18th January 2025: In continuation of the 36th National Road Safety Month activities, the Regional Transport Office (RTO) Kashmir, Srinagar, organized a car rally today, January 18, 2025, aimed at promoting road safety awareness. The event was inaugurated by the Transport Commissioner of J&K, Shri Vishesh Paul Mahajan, in the esteemed presence of RTO Kashmir, Qazi Irfan.

The event commenced with a pledge ceremony, where participants committed to adhering to road safety norms. This was followed by a signature campaign and sticker pasting activity to reinforce the message of responsible driving. The highlight of the day was the flag-off of the car rally, with vehicles adorned with banners and slogans advocating road safety, spreading awareness across the city.

Held at the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Rajbagh, Srinagar, the event witnessed enthusiastic participation and served as a platform to disseminate the importance of road safety.
Later, the Transport Commissioner visited the Trial Test Ground in Srinagar, where he emphasized the importance of two-wheelers using proper helmets and car drivers consistently wearing seat belts while obeying road safety rules. He issued instructions to concerned officers to streamline best practices in the driving test process for achieving licenses. Shri Mahajan also assured that a hi-tech, robust mechanism would be established for the future transport system, guaranteeing quality services by the transport department.

These initiatives by RTO Kashmir signify a significant step toward reducing road accidents and fostering a culture of safe and responsible driving.
