This movie is for Kashmiri people: Director Sajid Ali

SRINAGAR Aug 02: Laila-Majnu movie released in 2018 was Friday re-released in Srinagar with INOX theatre witnessed houseful with director of the movie Sajid Ali showering praises on the people of Kashmir for their love and respect.
Speaking to the media in Srinagar, Sajid Ali said that it was the love of people of Kashmir that prompted them to go for re-release of the movie Laila Majnu. “Credit for the re-release of the movie Laila Majnu goes to the people of Kashmir for their love, respect and hospitality,” said Sajid, who was flanked by other crew members that include Cash Bhat and Avinash Tiwari. He said that the movie reflects Kashmir characters and perhaps that is the main reason why people of Kashmir like this movie.
About the new J&K film policy 2024 launched by the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on August 1 at SKICC Srinagar, Director Sajid said that the policy is a real morale booster for them. “The new film policy reflects the government’s handholding approach towards filmmakers who invest money in movies. This indeed is a welcome step,” he said.
The movie casts Avinash Tiwary as Qais Bhatt / Majnu, Dawar as Young Qais, Tripti Dimri as Laila and Hibba Shafi as Young Laila. Meanwhile, INOX theatre in Srinagar witnessed huge rush of movie lovers and the first show recorded Houseful attendance—(KNC)
