Mushtaq Veeri booked under Public Safety Act, shifted to Jammu Jail

Srinagar, Mar 14, : Authorities on Thursday booked religious preacher and Jamiat Alhadees vice-president Moulvi Mushtaq Veeri under Public Safety Act (PSA) and he was shifted to Jammu Jail.

Reports said that Veeri was arrested on February 23, from his residence when dozens of Jama’at leaders were also arrested.

On February 23, late evening Veeri along with Difaye Jamiat Alhadees leader Moulana Maqbool Afrani were arrested by Police. Earlier, the government banned the Jama’at outfit for five years and hundreds of its leaders and activists including its Chief Dr Hameed Fayaz were arrested.
