Make them partner in economic growth of J&K
JAMMU, Sept 20: Apni Party Provincial President Women Wing Namrta Sharma has appealed Govt to encourage entrepreneurship among young educated women by launching specific policies and programmes in industrial, tourism and manufacturing sector in Jammu and Kashmir.
“Women entrepreneurs are innovative and needs special attention from the Govt. As a modern and educated society, the people in general and the Lt Governor’s administration specially should focus on strengthening women economically,” said Namrta Sharma.
Sharma was speaking at a public gathering of women in one of parts of the district during her tour.
Sharma appreciated the programme of the Govt to encourage women in Handloom and Handicraft sector and hoped that Govt will not limit itself in these sectors.
Beyond Handloom and Handicraft, the Apni Party Provincial Women Wing President said that women specific programmes should be launched by the Government for encouraging their participation in industrial, tourism and other sectors.
“Women should be made partner in economic growth of Jammu and Kashmir. Many women having innovative ideas fail because there is no one to support them. Educated women want to cooperate in nation building and strengthening of the growth of the country,” she said.
She said that the women have proved their mettle in IAS and JKAS services, army, and paramilitary and in police services but there is lack of interest being shown to launch women specific programmes in industrial sector and manufacturing.
The Government must formulate a committee and announce a special policy focusing on empowering women and encountering their participation as entrepreneurs with special incentives, demanded the Apni Party senior leader. In her series of meetings, Sharma appealed to the women to come forward and approach the J&K Entrepreneurship Development Institutes.
“These institutes provide professional training and assistance as well. If any women who want to start her own business, should seek assistance from this department. The Apni Party will stand by them in case they face any problem in pursuing their dreams,” she said.
