Baramulla: A first-of-its-kind snow festival was held in the Rafibabad area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
According to the Kashmir Despatch Correspondent, the Snow Festival (Winter Carnival) was organised by the District Administration Baramulla on Wednesday in order to explore the winter wonderland of MundDaji, Rafiabad.

The festival drew a large crowd from all over north Kashmir.
The festival witnessed music, dance, and cultural events that left the people enthralled, but the hallmark of the attraction was snow cricket, volleyball, and skiing.
The event was attended by Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar, the district development commissioner (DDC) for Baramulla, who was accompanied by other civil administration and police officials.
Speaking on the occasion, DC Baramulla Dr. Syed Sehrish Asgar said that the snow festival was organised in the woods of Rafiabad with an aim to promote village tourism. She said more such efforts would be taken from the administration side to further boost local tourism.

Dr. Syed Sehrish said efforts will also be made to put such destinations on the tourism map because they have the potential to attract tourists and boost employment opportunities.
She assured the development of infrastructure, including internet facilities, in the area to engage the local youth.
