Bandipora, Sep 07: Despite the notification to submit nomination forms for third phase of elections is issued the national conference-congress alliance faces uncertainty in Bandipora seat both party candidates run their campaigns under their own flags, congress yet to give mandate to their candidate after NC surrendered Bandipora seat in seat-sharing.
Under third phase of elections Bandipora will go for voting on Oct 01 for which several new faces are now in an election fray against former MLA’s.
The candidates which seems strong from Bandipora which includes Former MLC Nazim-ud-din Bhat and former MLA Bandipora Usman Majid announced to contest assembly elections as an independent candidates, apart from that several new faces including president contractors association Naseer Mir Independent candidate, Advocate Mudasir Bhat Peoples conference, Syed Shafar Qazmi from Apni party Syed Tajamul from PDP and Prince Parvaiz from AIP are now in opposite of these strong faces who from years have served the people of Bandipora.
During a workers convention yesterday daughter in law of former MLA Bandipora from National Conference Gh Rasool Naaz who runs NC Campaigns in Bandipora since last few years announced if she gets elected from Bandipora she will donate her whole salary to widows and needy peoples.
Sources close to the NC Bandipora unit said that before the alliance National conference had controversy on mandate in Bandipora seat in between Constituency incharge Nazir Malik and Naaz family who served NC since decades in Bandipora.
Recently a viral video on social media from Bandipora in which NC workers were seen destroying NC flags after which the person in his statement who was cutting the flags in the video said he fell in emotions at that time after NC surrendered Bandipora seat in alliance instead of giving mandate to NC in Bandipora.
Sources close to the party said that both the candidates were not happy with the decision of alliance on surrendering the Bandipora seat.
After the announcement of election as several candidates celebrated for receiving a mandate from their parties the sleep of several candidates have lost like NC and Congress in Bandipora.
“The dates for submitting nominations for third phase is 12 September, today is 8th September it seems congress did not have any strong candidate for Bandipora constituency,” one of the local activists told Kashmir Despatch.
Meanwhile, sources close to the National conference Bandipora cadre said that the alliance may announce a friendly contest on Bandipora seat till tomorrow.
