SRINAGAR, August 20 : Member of Parliament (MP) Akbar Lone on Thursday hinted that National Conference party will continue to do political activities in the region, while demanding the release of all political party leaders.
The remarks made by MP Akbar Lone came after the NC party president Dr Farooq Abdullah had called a meeting at his residence, which was attended by two MP’s Akbar Lone, Hasain Masoodi, NC General Secretary Mohammad Ali Sagar, Nasir Aslam Wani and Mohammed Ashraf Wani.
Talking to Kashmir Despatch, MP Akbar Lone said that the actual reason behind conducting the meeting was to see whether those leaders who were released will be allowed to party leaders. And the leaders arrived and we met at the Gupkar residence.
The meeting was called by the Party President Dr Farooq Abdullah to meet the leaders and discuss future plans. We will continue political activities in future as well. He added that we also demand the release of all leaders who were under detention since last year.
