Youth hailed as changemakers at Srinagar Integration Camp

SRINAGAR, June 27: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today interacted with the cadets of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) at the Special National Integration Camp held at Chinar Auditorium, Badami Bagh Cantonment, Srinagar. The camp brought together over 340 cadets and NCC officers from across the country, offering a vibrant display of India’s diversity and cultural unity.
Addressing the gathering, LG Sinha praised the efforts of the NCC Directorate, J&K and Ladakh, along with HQ 15 Corps and HQ 31 Sub Area, for organising the special camp. He described it as an inspiring platform that not only introduces young minds to the rich heritage of Jammu and Kashmir but also strengthens the spirit of unity in diversity.
“The National Cadet Corps is shaping young minds and proudly serving the nation. Their values—discipline, teamwork, leadership, and dedication—are helping to build a stronger future,” said the Lieutenant Governor.
LG Sinha lauded the NCC as one of India’s most dynamic youth organisations, emphasizing its pivotal role in promoting national unity and preserving cultural values. He called the participating cadets “custodians of India’s ancient civilization” and said they will act as brand ambassadors of Jammu and Kashmir when they return to their respective regions.
Describing youth as “the most valuable assets for any region and government,” the LG noted that they are the true catalysts of change in society. He urged the cadets to adopt the spirit of ‘Nation First’ and actively engage in grassroots development, contributing towards the collective dream of a Viksit Bharat.
“The message from this camp should be clear—that youth participation in the developmental journey of the nation is essential. The NCC acts as a vital bridge between governance and the aspirations of the younger generation,” he said.
The Lieutenant Governor also highlighted the significance of youth-led development and called for leveraging the NCC’s nationwide presence to mobilize young people in various nation-building initiatives.
A special mention was made of the NCC cadets’ commendable service during Operation Sindoor, where they played an instrumental role in relief work across border districts and organized blood donation drives. “Their courage and compassion during difficult times elevated the prestige of the NCC,” LG Sinha remarked.
The cultural evening saw cadets perform enthralling displays representing the vibrant traditions of various states, further underlining the unity in diversity that defines India.
Also present on the occasion were GOC 15 Corps Lt Gen Prashant Srivastava; Additional Chief Secretary Higher Education Department Shri Shantmanu; Additional Director General NCC Directorate J&K and Ladakh Maj Gen Anupinder Bevli; Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Shri Vijay Kumar Bidhuri; Commissioner Secretary, Youth Services and Sports Shri Sarmad Hafeez; Padma Shri Farooq Ahmed Mir; Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Shri Akshay Labroo; and other senior officials from the civil and security administration.
