Srinagar, May 31 : Former MLA from north Kashmir’s Baramulla Javaid Beigh Sunday said that National Conference was solely responsible for its historic blunders for turning Kashmir into a battle ground.

Beigh also said that NC MP’s should have participated in the Delimitation exercise and later resigned if they would have realised exercise wasn’t in the interest of Kashmir.

Talking to news agency, Beigh said that Kashmir has always been a sufferer whenever there was a tension between India and Pakistan.

“In 1931, people of Kashmir handed over their land to NC leadership. But what happened, the NC leadership joined hands with Hindu Mahasabha on the directions of Gandhi and Nehru and split Muslim Conference and formed National Conference. Was that the mandate of people, not at all,” said Beigh, who is the younger brother for former finance minister of J&K, Muzaffar Beigh.

He said that it were the Muslims of Kashmir, who were facing the brunt as Dogras were ruling the then princely state. “Then another blunder was committed by Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah, who agreed to part of interim government in J&K on Maharaja’s request,” Beigh said.

He said that BJP is a reality in country and also in J&K. “Our everything has been taken away, we have nothing. Zyda say Zyada, (maximum) we can fight for statehood that’s it. What else do we have,” he said.

BJP, Beigh said was formed in 1926 and agenda set and finalized in 1950 which included J&K too. “That is being implemented in spirit by the Central government led by BJP,” he said.  He said see where is Hurriyat Conference today. “All are mum,” he said.(KINS)
