Sopore, Oct 30: Asia’a second largest fruit mandi at Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district will observe shutdown tomorrow against new land laws notified by the union government for Jammu and Kashmir.

Fruit Mandi Sopore President Fayaz Ahmed Malik confirmed to Kashmir Despatch that the fruit market will be closed tomorrow to register protest against the new land laws.

Political parties in J&K have already said that the amendments that have been made to the J&K Land Laws are arbitrary in nature and are totally unacceptable to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Pertinently, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq-led all parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has also called for a shutdown on 31 October tommorrow to register the strong resentment against anti-people law.
