Director assures all possible support for making Sopore a Greater Town

Sopore, Feb 10 : The recently elected councilors from north Kashmir’s Sopore Wednesday met Director Urban Local Bodies and had a threadbare discussion on several issues and problems faced by the locals of Sopore.
Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said that recently elected councillors from Sopore met Director Local Urban Bodies Riyaz Ahmad in Srinagar.
The group of councillors reportedly raised the issues of waste management, garbage dumping in the town, manpower in Municipal Council Sopore besides infrastructure of offices and issues faced by employees.
“The Director ULB gave a patient listening and assured all possible support for making Sopore a Greater Town. He also sought cooperation from the councilors to work in tandem with MC Sopore to redress the grievances of general public besides working for the development of town,” sources privy to Kashmir Despatch said.
A councilor who was part of the delegation said, “We are elected by the people and we feel for them. Their problems, issues are our problems. We are here to resolve their issues. Today, a group of councilors visited the Director ULB’s office and discussed several issues related to Sopore at threadbare.”
Kashmir Despatch learnt from the sources that director ULB may visit Sopore next week and will chair a meeting with councillors to redress the issues pertaining to the town.
