NIA carries raid in Kashmir’s capital City

Srinagar, Sep 24 : The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday morning carried out a fresh raid in summer capital city Srinagar.
An official told Kashmir Despatch that a team of NIA accompanied by CRPF and JK police raided the house of one Bashir Ahmad Lone son of Ghulam Qadir lone a resident of Kathihal area of Bijhama Uri at present Zainakote Srinagar.
Pertinently, NIA conducted multi raids in Srinagar and Baramulla district on Tuesday.
In a statement to Kashmir Despatch, NIA had said that it conducted searches at multiple locations in Baramulla-Uri and one location in Srinagar in connection with Hizbul Mujahideen militant Naveed Babu case (RC-01/2020/NIA/JMU) and Cross-border Trade case (RC-17/2016/NIA/JMU).
In Hizbul Mujahideen case, houses of the following close associates of accused Tariq Mir resident of Maldera, Shopian, who was arrested by NIA on 29.04.2020 for his role in smuggling and supply of weapons to HM militants, were searched.Those are Azad Ahmad Pir resident of Dardkote, Uri, Haleema Begum resident of Boniyar, Baramulla, Shaheen Lone resident of Kanspora, Baramulla, working as an Inspector in Power Development Department. His father- in-law’s house at Waza Mohalla, Palhalan, Baramulla, was also searched, Shareen Bibi wife of accused Tariq Mir resident of Chinad, Baramulla, Tafazul Parimoo resident of Rehmatabad, Hyderpora, Budgam.
Several incriminating documents and digital devices were seized during these searches the NIA statement reads.
