No IED blast in Bandipora, fabricated video being circulated on Social Media: Police

Srinagar, Feb 22 : Police in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Monday evening rubbished the rumors which were being floated on social media about a mine blast on Bandipora highway and termed it as fake and baseless.

A senior police officer said that no IED blast incident has took place anywhere in the district, adding that a fabricated video is being circulated on social networking sites with an intention to disrupt peace and normalcy in the area.

He also warned of stern action under law against persons spreading fake and fabricated rumors.

Earlier, a two second video went viral on social media claiming that an IED has been blasted somewhere on Bandipora highway without furnishing more details or exact location. (KDC)
