Mumbai, April 28: Internationally acclaimed banker, Abhay Aima, passed away at 63 on April 27, leaving his friends, family and fraternity in great shock.
According to his family sources, his sudden demise happened at his residence in Bandra at 4:10 PM on 27th April.
Abhay Aima was known as a key figure in shaping HDFC Bank’s growthwas the Group Head – Equities & Private Banking Group, Third Party Products, NRI and International Consumer Business at HDFC Bank. With over 25 years of experience in the capital markets and financial service industry, he was a strong pillar for HDFC’s advisory business. His last rites will be performed today at 4 PM at the Santacruz crematorium.
His death is deeply felt by many, including former Jammu and Kashmir Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu, who lamented on social media platform X, “Aima Saeba, not done! Childhood friend and chief protagonist in bedtime stories narrated to my son leaves me shattered. And alone. Five decades of association in Srinagar & Mumbai ends in a minute. Not fair. Abhay Aima, April 17th, 1961- April 27th, 2024. RIP.”
He will always be remembered for his big heart, kindness, warmth, and the impact he had on all who knew him,” reads a note shared by Drabu on X. (PTK)
