Now Modi Government Declares JKNF as Unlawful Association

Date:

Srinagar, Mar 12 : The Modi government today took a decisive step towards maintaining the security and integrity of the nation by declaring the Jammu and Kashmir National Front (JKNF) as an Unlawful Association.

In a post on X Union home minister Amit Shah said that this move is aimed at uprooting forces that seek to promote terrorism and secessionist activities in the region.

The JKNF has been found to be involved in carrying out unlawful and anti-national activities, including supporting terrorist acts and inciting violence against security forces. The outfit has also been actively discouraging the participation of Kashmiri people in elections, thereby undermining the democratic process of India.

The activities of the JKNF have shown a blatant disregard for the constitutional authority and set up of the country. By promoting secession and destabilizing law and order in Jammu and Kashmir, they have posed a threat to the territorial integrity, security, and sovereignty of India.

In light of these grave circumstances, the Central Government has made the necessary decision to declare the JKNF as an unlawful association. This step is crucial to curb their anti-national activities, prevent the spread of false narratives, and safeguard public order in the region.

The declaration of the JKNF as an unlawful association will be effective immediately, with the Central Government exercising the powers conferred by the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967. This decision will remain in effect for a period of five years from the date of its publication, subject to any further orders under the Act.
