Omar Abdullah ‘furious’ over a Journalist for ‘breaching’ his trust

Date:

Srinagar, Aug 3, : Former Jammu Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Saturday expressed resentment and came down heavily on one of his Journalist ‘friend’ for breaching his trust by sending screen shots of their private conversation to his organization.

“Had an exchange with a journalist which was expressly off the record. The exchange took place over twitter direct messages. 36 hours later the conversation was sent back to me as a screen shot of our chat. So much for respecting journalistic practices,” Omar Tweeded.

He added: “When I confronted the person with the screen shot the reply I got was “twitter must have done this & circulated it”. Yup, I’m an idiot & will certainly believe Twitter released a screen shot of the conversation.”

“The conversation was a pretty innocuous one but that’s not the point. If you can’t respect a confidence don’t expect any contact or access what so ever. Now go explain that to the organisation you work for.”

Majority of his followers while expressing sympathies with Omar Abdullah suggested him not to trust present day “degrading” Journalists. “To have a private conversation with a Journalist is like kissing a Scorpian thinking it is not going to sting you,” responded a netizen to him.

Omar Abdullah- a tech savvy is being followed by vast chunk of people on Twitter.
