GANDERBAL: One person was killed and another injured after being hit by a snow avalanche in Shaitani Nallah near Zojila Pass on Monday.
An official told Kashmir Despatch, the avalanche hit the truck carrying Vegetable at Shaitani Nallah near Zojila Pass at around 6:00 pm.
The BRO pressed into service its men and machinery and with the help of police they rescued the Driver and Conductor of the truck , who were trapped under the debris,however conductor died onspot while the injured driver brought to hospital for treatment, he added.
The deceased conductor identified as Tawseef Ahmad Mir Son of Ghulam Mohammad Mir a resident of Ari Goripura Kangan while the injured driver has not yet been identified yet.
