Srinagar, April 28: A 26-year-old policeman posted at Sopore town on Tuesday tested positive for Covid-19 taking the total toll of infected cops in north Kashmir to six.
A health official told Kashmir Despatch, One more cop from North Kashmir has tested positive for the novel coronavirus on Tuesday. With this, the total number of infected cases of cops in the region has risen to 6. The officer said a resident of Zaingeer had physical contact with a COVID infected doctor at Baramulla hospital.
The officer said we have initiated the process of tracking down the people who may have came in close contcat with him.
North Kashmir so far witnessed six positive cases of COVID-19 in the police department, Earlier four cops of Malpora village of Narwav became a victim of this deadly virus, while one cop from Bandipora village was tested positive after came in contact with his COVID infected relatives.
Meanwhile, the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the Jammu and Kashmir jumped 566. Till date, this virus has also killed 8 people in which five were from north Kashmir.
