Ganderbal, Dec 30 : Jammu Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP) vice president Ghulam Hassan Mir on Friday said only the Parliament or the Supreme Court can bring back Jammu & Kashmir’s special status that was revoked by the Government of India on 5 August 2019.

“Article 370 can be brought back through two processes, one is Parliament which seems impossible because of insufficient representation, and the second is through the Supreme Court where the Apni party has a strong case,” Mir said while presiding over a party workers’ meeting held in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).

The meeting at the town hall in Ganderbal was held to discuss certain party issues and the prevailing political scenario.

The former cabinet minister while addressing the meeting asked the party workers to pace up their political activities and public outreach in order to strengthen the party further at the grassroots level.

“It is the responsibility of the workers to make the masses well aware of the party’s people-friendly programs and its vision for the better future of J&K people,” he said.

On the occasion, Mir listened to the suggestions put forth by senior workers to make the party cadre more vibrant and active across the district.

Mir was accompanied by senior leader and Apni Party general secretary Rafi Ahmed Mir, district president Ganderbal Javaid Ahmed Mir, constituency president Javaid Ahmed Sheikh and other party functionaries—(KNO)
