Srinagar, March 19 : Asking people to avoid unnecessary visit to hospitals, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Pandurang Kondbarao Pole on Thursday said OPDs in tertiary care hospitals will operate only for emergency cases and patients having coronavirus symptoms.


“People should restrain from visiting hospitals unnecessary. They can visit primary health centres and district hospitals for minor ailments. They should visit tertiary care hospitals only in emergency cases or patients having coronavirus symptoms,” Pandurang told a news agency over the phone.


“OPDs in tertiary care hospitals will continue to operate but for only severely ailment patients and those having symptoms of coronavirus,” he said.


The reports Thursday said that authorities have decided to close OPD section at SMHS hospital here amid growing threat of coronavirus spread in Srinagar where a sexagenarian woman yesterday tested positive, making it the first case of covid-19 in Kashmir valley reported KINS.
