Order for Govt officials intended to streamline day to day affairs, nothing to do with any situation: DC Kargil

KARGIL AUGUST 04 : Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC Kargil and District Magistrate Kargil Baseer ul Haq Choudhary while responding to the news items in some sections of national media regarding the recent order issued from his office clarified that the said order is intended to streamline day to day official affairs and has nothing to do with any situation.


While addressing a press conference here today, the DC stated that such advisories are issued from time to time and these are routine advisories because of the short working season so that developmental activities in the district may be completed well within the stipulated timelines.


The DC further stated that Special Summary Revision of electoral rolls is also under progress in the district in which the District Officers, SDMs and BLOs are assigned different duties and if they leave the station the Special Summary Revision will be held up.


Choudhary said that the services of district officers as part of different committees already constituted are also urgently required for the Independence Day Celebrations on 15th August, 2019, as magistrates and event managers for the successful conduct of the National Level Tribal Festival from 11th to 16th August, 2019 followed by the Kargil International Marathon on 24th and 25th August, 2019 in which more than 10,000 students and around 3,000 general public will participate.


The DC stated that in order to manage and make these events successful different officers have been assigned different duties, so it is very difficult to allow them to proceed on leave.


Choudhary said that yet another important event is the 4 day Kargil School Olympics in which around 1000 students will participate, and in order to manage and ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the School Olympics, all the officers will perform different duties at Tehsil, zonal and district level.


The DC clarified that it is pertinent to mention that the said order has been issued in view of the said events and activities and to streamline the day to day official affairs besides to make the events successful, officers will not leave the station without permission.


Choudhary said that it is worth to mention that from mid July to mid August cloud bursting has been a common phenomenon, for e.g; in Hinaskot, Lotsum and Zanskar etc. Therefore, to deal with such disasters and for ensuring better disaster management measures, the DC Office has been issuing such orders and circulars from time to time.


The DC stated that it has nothing to do with any situation and is just a routine matter.
