KANGAN, July 22: Riyaz Ahmad, senior KAS officer and Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah, was bereaved today following the demise of his mother, Manzoora Begum, wife of Late Ghulam Mohammad Wani (Gul Sahab).
A resident of Iqbal Abad, Kangan, the deceased was also the mother of Imtiyoz Ahmad and Ajaz Ahmad. Remembered for her humility, warmth, and compassion, Manzoora Begum was deeply respected in the locality.
Her Namaz-e-Janaza (funeral prayers) was offered this morning at Public Park, Kangan, and she was laid to rest at the family graveyard.
In a show of solidarity and respect, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Deputy Chief Minister personally visited the residence of Riyaz Ahmad in Kangan to offer condolences. They spent time with the bereaved family, prayed for the departed soul, and expressed their deep sorrow over the loss.
Condolences have also poured in from senior civil servants, political leaders, colleagues, and well-wishers from across Jammu and Kashmir.
