Ananthnag, Oct. 5: Director General of Police Dilbagh Singh said on Thursday that our commitment is to provide a better and more secure environment to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, who have seen the worst times of Pakistan-sponsored disturbance and destruction over the last three decades.
The police chief, as per Kashmir Despatch, was interacting with the joint party of police, army, and CAPFs that was part of yesterday’s encounter in Kulgam.
DGP, while interacting with Jawans in south Kashmir’s Ananthnag district, as per the Kashmir Scroll, said that J&K Police, in tandem with other security forces, are working with great commitment and resolve to demolish the remnants of terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that Jawans and officers working in J&K have been displaying indomitable courage while fighting different challenges, which has strengthened peace in the union territory.
The top police chief said that he is proud of the dedication and commitment exhibited by one and all in maintaining peace and order in the UT and added that we have to respond to each and every evil design of terrorists dictated from across the border more strongly.
He also directed monitoring and keeping vigilance on terror support systems to demolish the ecosystem. He said that, barring a few instances, the UT is by and large peaceful, and for that, he congratulated personnel of the police, other security forces, and people for their joint efforts.
The DGP also cautioned the forces and people of J&K about the conspiracy of Pakistan, which has been making continuous attempts to disturb peace and tranquilly in Jammu and Kashmir. The DGP directed taking the war on drugs to the next level, as Pakistan is now using drugs to generate funds for terror activities and to harm our young generation.
General Officer Commanding (GOC) Counter Insurgency Victor Force, Maj. General Balbir Singh, YSM, VSM, Brig. Amandeep Malli, VSM Comdr. 1 Sector RR, DIG South Kashmir Rage Rayees Mohammad Bhat, Col Vishal Kumar Singh, CO 1RR, SSP Anantnag Ashish Kumar Mishra, SSP Kulgam Sahil Sarangal, and other senior officers of District Anantnag and Kulgam were present on the occasion.
