KPDCL urges eligible consumers to avail the scheme, benefit from this welfare-driven opportunity
SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 25: The amnesty policy of Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has witnessed an overwhelming public response with more-than 13,189 consumers availing the benefits and clearing their dues, till date.
This amnesty policy offers a 100% waiver on interest and surcharges for outstanding bills of domestic consumers as of March 31, 2025.
Focused awareness campaigns and facilitation efforts by the DISCOM has bore the fruits, with as many as 13,189 consumers have already availed the benefits under the current phase, enabling a recovery of Rs.753.8 lakhs.
This positive trend reflects both consumer confidence in the initiative and its importance in strengthening the financial health of the Corporation, while at the same time advancing consumer welfare through settlement of arrears and regularization of services.
Meanwhile, KPDCL has urged all eligible consumers who have not yet availed the scheme to approach their nearest KPDCL Sub-Division offices without delay and benefit from this welfare-driven opportunity.
It has further given out that the Amnesty Policy has been designed in the interest of the public good, offering a simplified and consumer-friendly mechanism for clearing outstanding dues.
