Had PDP president and the Ex-Chief minister shed tears when our youth were devoured upon in 2016, it would have had any impact. One may inquire from her as to where she was her concern for people when the people of Kashmir were subjected to worst of human rights violations, killings, blinding and much more. It was during her tenure that people were used as human shield; where her sympathy and empathy was for those who were blinded, bruised during her tenure.

PDP, NC are acting like extension wings of Congress and BJP : Er Rasheed

0

Srinagar, May 04 : Er Rasheed on Saturday said that both NC and PDP have miserably failed at all fronts and are acting like extension wings of Congress and BJP.

Reiterating that AIP has the potential to replace traditional political parties in J&K, the party president Er Rasheed appealed masses to support AIP In the entire state in the upcoming elections.

While welcoming prominent Trade Union Leader and Political activist Ishtiyaq Qadri, Social and Political activist Dr. Sikandar Jan, Educationist Aijaz Khan, Educationist Mohammad Akbar Rather, RTI activist Syed Qarar Hashmi, Social activist Ab. Hameed Malik and others in AIP at a press conference in Srinagar.

“While resolution to Kashmir issue in accordance with the sentiments and aspirations of people is a must but at the same time people deserve a better governance and have a right to have basic immunities but unfortunately successive governments have not only diluted the nature of Kashmir issue but have miserably failed to provide even poor Governance,” he said.

He said it is disgusting that Governor Administration has taken people of state for granted. While common man suffers for want of better health care, electricity, drinking water and proper roads, even schools are without teachers in remote areas and the genuine political leadership is being subjected to mental torture.

“The low percentage of votes in parliamentary elections should make New Delhi understand that pro-resistance leadership has its routes deep in masses and their voice cannot be muzzled by force. Be it banning Jamat-i-Islami or JKLF nothing will change on the ground unless New Delhi realizes significance of resolving Kashmir issue.

It is shameful that political prisoners including Yaseen Malik, Asia Indrabi, Zahoor Watali, Ayaz Akbar, Shabir Shah, Nayeem Khan, and Altaf Shah are being treated like criminals and even courts are being influenced to delay justice,” he added.

“Be it the excuse of Moral code of conduct being in place or the futile tradition of Darbar Move, the day to day issues of masses is matter of huge concern. The Dilapidated condition of roads needs immediate and time bound attention and state and Grass root administration need to wake up and discharge its duty without meaningless excuses,” he added.

Geelani reiterates poll boycott, shutdown call for Pulwama, Shopian districts

0

Srinagar, May 04 : Appealing people of district Pulwama and Shopian for complete election boycott and observe a complete shutdown and demonstrate a civil curfew on May 6, 2019 in order to defeat the ‘ill designs of Indian imperialism’, Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani Saturday said that “on one hand ruthless killings, unabated arrest spree, economic strangulation, vehicular restriction, enforced demographic changes through judicial onslaught is on its peak and on other hand a vast military exercise under the veil of election is being thrusted on this helpless nation just to endorse not only their brutal suppression, but to hoodwink international community as well.”

Taking a serious notice of prevailing ‘repressive’ policy of India to push the people, especially the young generation to the wall, Geelani as per a statement issued regretted the “Indian barbaric attitude to suppress the political will and freedom sentiments of the people of Kashmir by using its military might in full scale.”

Terming the election process as ‘a purely military operation’, he castigated the Indian attitude to create a war like situation in the grab of elections. “People are being killed, maimed, blinded with pellets and randomly arrested on one pretext or the other,” he said.

Condemning the ‘hypocrisy’ displayed by all the local regional pro-Indian political parties, Geelani said that “it has been a common feature of such stooges to be more loyal than the king and to go any extent to beat and kill their fellow people for their petty political interests.

People have not forgotten the political slangs and abusive remarks used by these Indian supporters when they brazenly tried to justify the innocent killings by saying “the boys were not supposed to get toffee and milk, or kill the pro-freedom people and threw their dead bodies in the river Jhelum and even to suggest bombardment of Pakistan.”.

“Pro-Indian leaders have time and again proved themselves political chameleons, changing colours to hoodwink the people,” he added. Expressing serious concern over deploying heavy contingents of forces especially around the whole districts of Pulwama and Shopian in order to create a dreadful atmosphere to harass and suffocate the people on the poling day, Geelani hailed the steadfastness of the people of Pulwama and Shopian districts and assured them that people of Jammu and Kashmir fully support their resolve and commitment for the sacred mission of right to self-determination.

Pro-freedom leader urged the international community to rise to the occasion and come to the rescue of people of Kashmir who have been victimized for their legitimate demand of right to self-determination and help resolve the Kashmir issue at the earliest, in accordance with the wishes of the people.

Meanwhile, paying tribute to slain youth Lateef Ahmad Dar, Tariq Ahmad Sheikh and Shariq Ahmad in Shopian gunfight, Geelani blamed Indian leaders and said that “their insensitivity, unconcern, denial and unrealistic approach is the sole reason for this unabated bloodshed in disputed land of Jammu and Kashmir.”

Geelani said that “their denial and unconcern is the sole reason for this unabated bloodshed in Jammu and Kashmir and reiterating his stand that loss of human lives is a serious concern for every noble soul and there is no other option other than to honor and safeguard every precious live.”

Geelani said unless the age old wounds of armed occupation are not healed and practical and concrete measures are not taken up by the occupiers and their perpetrators, human blood will continue to spill over and permanent political, economic and regional stability will remain a distant dream.

No relief in anti-militancy operations in holly month : Agencies

0

Srinagar, May 04 : As the Peoples Democratic Party chief Mehbooba Mufti today advocated for Ramdhan ceasefire by the Government of India and also by the militants, top security officials revealed that they have received no directions in this regard from the ministry of home affairs and the anti-militancy operations will continue the way they are taking place.

“We have no direction about holding truce this Ramdhan from the GoI. So, the operations against militants will continue in the fasting month in the same way they are taking place at present,” local news agency quoted a top security official.

He said given the sanctity of the fasting month, the security agencies will act more on the intelligence inputs and then launch the operations against militancy.

This year, official figures reveal, so far 75 militants have been killed in a stepped up anti-militancy operations launched by the forces across Kashmir. Majority of slain militants belonged to Jaish-e-Muhammad outfit that carried out attack on the CRPF convoy bus resulting in the killing of 40 CRPF men.

The PDP chief while addressing the media men here urged GoI and the militants to announce Ramadhan ceasefire as a mark of respect for the holy month. Last year, the Ministry of Home Affairs had announced ceasefire in Kashmir for the fasting month.

The militants, however, had rejected the true and continued to attack forces. However, the top security brass had claimed that people had reaped the peace dividends in the wake of ceasefire in Ramdhan month.

However, despite political parties advocating continuation of ceasefire post Ramdhan last year, the Centre on June 17 decided to call off the truce. The announcement was made by the union home minister Rajnath Singh in a series of tweets.
