Srinagar, April 10 : Former Chief Minister and PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti on Wednesday said that her father and party patron late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed had “captured ghost in the bottle” by allying with Bharatiya Janata Party.

She said that given the mandate, BJP lost a “golden opportunity” to resolve the Kashmir issue and to stop the blood in the Valley.

“Mufti Sahib time and again said that Modi has a two-fold mandate. He is a Prime Minister of BJP. He is backed by RSS and Bajrang Dal and other Hindu parties,” she said, adding, “Mufti sahib had given a golden opportunity to him to resolve Kashmir by joining hands with (Prime Minister) Modi.”

She said Mufti tried to cure “disease of youth carrying stones in hands, wielding gun and struggling with unemployment.”She said that Mufti Sayeed had asked people to give him 40 seats but the fractured mandate which saw BJP winning 25 seats meant that “PDP had no option but to drink a cup of poison by joining hands” with the saffron party.

“By joining hands with BJP, Mufti Sahib captured the ghost in bottle. The ghost who talks about abrogation of Article 370, 35A today and the ghost who has closed the national highway for two days a week. The ghost who through NIA is not sparing leaders like Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and taking others to Tihar jail,” said Mehbooba while addressing a poll rally in Dak Bangalow Anantnag.

She said that Mufti had joined hands with BJP on pre-conditions of having a dialogue with Pakistan and Hurriyat Conference and not touching Article 370. She  said that BJP also agreed to withdraw AFPSA and return power projects.

She said that India leaders are trying to end the Muslim majority status of Kashmir and by threatening to abrogate Article 370 and 35A, they keeping on “pestering” the people of the state.

“They cannot repealing the Article 370 or Article 35A and if they do so, the relation between India and Kashmir will end,” she said, adding, “There would be such a blaze from Kashmir that will destroy along with entire South Asia.”

“Why are you feeling embarrassed? Raise your heads and tell the people what Prime Minister of Pakistan is saying today has been said much before by Mufti Sayeed,” she asked party activists said and urged people to vote for her.  “Previously I won by 50 to 60 thousands votes, today I shall win by one lakh votes.” (GNS)

0

SRINAGAR APR 10 : Cautioning the people about the designs of PDP BJP and other smaller groups fielded by the Saffron Party as proxies under a conspiracy to divide the voters in the upcoming elections, the J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC)President  & Party Candidate for Anantnag Parliamentary Constituency G.A. Mir has said that Saffron Party and it’s former alliance partner PDP would go to any extent to mislead people for electoral gains.

G.A.Mir also hit out at Centre, State Govt for withdrawing Security of protected persons on the crucial time of Polls, saying that there was hell of difference between Raj Bhawan & Centre Govt on this issues.

Addressing election meeting in Kapran Dooru , G.A. Mir cautioned the people about the designs of PDP BJP and other small groups, who have been fielded as proxies in the upcoming elections  to divide the people in Jammu and Kashmir for votes, but at the sametime, he felt confident that they will miserably fail, as that the masses  in all the three regions have  realized  as to what PDP BJP has done during their three and half year’s rule  in the State.

He said the misrule and mis-governance by PDP BJP have vitiated the atmosphere in the valley since they assumed power, all the good work done by previous Govts have gone waste, people in all the three regions have been made to suffer on economic and developmental fronts due to the opportunistic politics on the part of PDP BJP, Mir said

The developmental scenario started by the UPA I UPA II in the State has come to standstill due to negligent attitude and contradiction in the approach of PDP BJP, resulting in all the three regions have suffered immensely on developmental front.

He also hit out at Prime Minister Narinder over claiming to be serious about the development of State, saying that BJP Govt at centre is concerned about the electoral gains and not about the development of people of Jammu and Kashmir.

The people of South Kashmir have faced countless difficulties due to wrong policies and betrayal by PDP, as a result, there is grave disillusionment among the people, loss of innocent lives and continuous bloodshed in South Kashmir and elsewhere has exposed PDP before the people as a result they(people) have lost faith in this Party.

On this occasion, G.A. Mir expressed grave concern over the decision of withdrawing Security to protected persons on the brink of Parliamentary Elections and described the decision as very unfortunate move to scuttle the movement of political activists.

The order passed by Raj Bhawan regarding scrapping of the security withdrawal order is nowhere visible on the ground, which is indicative of the lack of concern with regard to security of political leaders on the part of State and Centre Govt, Mir added and condemned both State & Centre Govt for being insensitive about the safety of Political Leaders in JK.

Those who were present on this occasion included Ali Mohd Mantoo, Peer Shahbaz BP, Mohd Iqbal Ahanger, Tanveer Ahmad Khan, Hamid Malik, Youth President Tariq Mohi U Din, Shahid Bhat, Imtiyaz Ahmad and others. (PTK)

Kashmir is a globally accepted dispute: Geelani

0

SRINAGAR APR 10 : Suggesting the Indian rulers to accept the ground realities and stop the age old deceitful rhetoric about Kashmir, All Parties Hurriyat Conference chairman, Syed Ali Geelani said that Kashmir is a globally accepted dispute with both countries, India and Pakistan, being signatory and unrealistic and undemocratic media voicing by Indian rulers can in no way change the dynamics of this issue.

He said that these baseless thunders may lure the majority vote bank and Saffron brigade may once again succeed to befool its people, but issue like Kashmir need a pragmatic and statesman like dealing which at least in Delhi rulers is hard to find.

Hurriyat chairman said that people claiming a vast majority and being a major political party should at least issue the statements close to the historical facts and figures, which can never get diluted or changed by the repeated and arrogant narratives like “Atoot Ang”.

He said that almost all the rulers in Delhi have adopted a same untrue and biased lollypop for their collective conscience, but can least have any effect on the ground situation. Same home minister in 2016 said that Kashmir issue will be resolved with a week’s time, hundreds of weeks have passed since then same person now is forced to sing the song of “Atoot Ang” again, just to grab the power.

Despite millions of armed forces, supported and helped by a vast and notorious investigative sniffing, Kashmir is still boiling and the heat is felt not only in Kashmir, but whole of India. Daily deaths and destruction has led to the nuclear confrontation in waiting and had power a solution to any problem than 71 years is more than enough to solve any issue, but present scenario, speaks volumes against it.

Hurriyat chairman said that had military might cowed down any nation to submission then India would have still been under British rule, America would not have left Vietnam, Russia would not have forced to leave Afghanistan after being shattered into pieces itself and nowadays American superpower would not have bowed to Taliban to rescue them in Afghanistan.

He said that if trouble is only in 3 districts then it is a golden opportunity for India to ask the people to decide their fate and they are sure to win and will get rid of the tag and blame of oppressor and aggressor which may pave for their way to new international and global heights.

Hurriyat chairman said that rulers in Delhi should not shy away from the facts and realities, if they do so they are themselves to blame of its consequences.

‘Pak has officially allied with Modi’: Congress

0

SRINAGAR, APR 10 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s pitch where he accused the Opposition Congress of being a sympathiser of Pakistan, portraying the country as India’s enemy, has backfired on Wednesday after his Pakistani counterpart Imran Khan said that he wanted the BJP to win the 2019 Lok Sabha elections as there would be more chances to resolve the Kashmir issue under the right-wing party’s government. The statement of the Pakistani prime minister in favour of the BJP has given enough ammo to the Opposition parties led by the Congress.

Reacting to the Pakistani premier’s remarks, Randeep Singh Surjewala, chief spokesperson of the Congress, said that the statement of Khan had exposed Pakistan’s love for Prime Minister Modi.

“Pak has officially allied with Modi! ‘A vote for Modi is a vote for Pakistan’, says Pak PM Imran Khan. Modiji, first affection with Nawaz Sharif and now Imran Khan has become your loving friend. He has called your bluff,” Surjewala tweeted.

Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah, who was attacked by Modi for his separate PM for Kashmir remarks, also took a dig at the prime minister and said, “So much for Modi Sahib telling the country only Pakistan and its sympathisers want BJP to lose. Imran Khan has just endorsed him for a 2nd term.”

BJP’s former ally and PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti went a step ahead and trolled the party over Imran Khan’s remarks. She said, “Bhakts scratching their heads & at wit ends wondering if they should praise Imran Khan or not.”

Mehbooba Mufti Bhakts scratching their heads & at wit ends wondering if they should praise Imran Khan or not.

Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan said he thinks there may be a better chance of peace talks with India if Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) wins the general election due to begin there on Thursday

If there is one thing Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been slamming the Congress during his election rallies for 2019 Lok Sabha polls, it is the alleged support the Grand Old Party gets in Pakistan. The prime minister even said that the manifesto of the Congress party stands more for Pakistan than for India.

However, Pakistani counterpart Imran Khan thinks the other way and actually wanted Modi-led saffron party to return to power. In an interview with a group of foreign journalists, the Pakistani prime minister said, “Perhaps if the BJP – a right-wing party – wins, some kind of settlement in Kashmir could be reached.” (PTK)

Over 4000 crores of developmental funds reportedly lapsed in last fiscal for inaction: JKSECC

0

Srinagar, Apr 10 : Jammu and Kashmir Socio Economic Coordination Committee (JKSECC) has urged the state government to initiate a high level probe into the reported lapsing of over 4000 Crores of funds earmarked for developmental works in the previous fiscal owing to the inaction by various Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) besides officials of planning and finance departments.

According to a statement issued , in a meeting of JKSECC, an amalgam of various trade, industrial, travel, tour, tourism, horticulture, educational, contractors, pharmaceutical, houseboat, bakers, transport and other civil society formations, the members regretted that over 50% of the funds earmarked for the developmental works across the state had been lapsed at the end of recently concluded financial year for failure in timely utilization of funds by executing departments and delayed approval and authorization by various administrative departments.

Taking strong note of the reports submitted the head of its constituent member JKCCC Jeelani Purza, the members of JKSECC expressed their concern and have thus demanded probe in this grave matter to fix responsibility followed by a stern action against the defaulting officers responsible for such huge lapsing of funds.

It has been reported that a whopping amount of above 4000 Crores got lapsed in the previous year because of non-action by the DDOs and other officers at various levels of the administration and execution. The inaction on the part of officials has added to already created liabilities of over 1076 Crores payable to the contractors and other entrepreneurs since 2014.

It has also been reported that planning and development department as well as Finance department first delayed approvals and physical release of funds and then compounded their utilization with issuance of irrational and impracticable stipulations and orders. As per the reports, in many cases, the Finance department released funds to the concerned departments on 31st of March when the last date for submitting bills to the treasuries was fixed as 30th of March by the same department.

“This malfunctioning on the part of concerned functionaries with no accountability has led to colossal public inconvenience with abrupt halting of maintenance and development of public assets owing to an ugly confrontation between the government and contractors,” observed the members.

JKSECC, in the larger public interest, has sought immediate intervention of the Governor, his advisors and chief Secretary in the whole matter in order to come up with details and defaults in funds lapsing cases along with the action taken by the government against erring officials.
