SRINAGAR, March 12: The Jammu and Kashmir government on Thursday issued an order preponing the holiday for Jumat-ul-Vida, which will now be observed on March 13, 2026 (Friday) instead of the previously announced date of March 20.

According to Government Order No. 323-JK(GAD) of 2026, issued by the General Administration Department, the change represents a partial modification of last year’s holiday calendars. The order, signed by Commissioner/Secretary M. Raju, IAS, states the change is effective for the entire Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

The holiday has been moved up by one week to align with the actual date of the religious occasion.
