Pak youth carrying valid permission not allowed to move beyond fence in Poonch to meet grandmother

Poonch, Jan 30 : The joy and excitement of 21-year-old Kamran Aftab son of Mohammad Aftab of Bandi Khulratta in Pakistan Administrated Kashmir, knew no bounds when he got permission to meet his grandmother and uncle few days back.

Riding high on the excitement, Kamran finally arrived in District Poonch in peace bus via Chakanda bagh crossing point on January 28, ready to meet the grandmother and the uncle besides his other relatives here. However, there is twist. Kamran is not allowed by army to meet the family, living beyond fence through Baryani Gali despite a valid permission granted to him by the district magistrate Poonch based on the report by police post Balakote.

The police informed the deputy commissioner that Kamran has arrived in Poonch on a valid permit.

Following the report, the deputy commissioner granted permission to Kamran to go beyond fenace through Baryani Gali to visit the house of his uncle Mohammad Maroof son of Faqir Mohammad at Gulhata area in this district.

However, despite the permission granted to him by deputy commissioner as well as the concerned police, the army is not allowing Kamran to meet the relatives.

PRO Defence Jammu Col Anand when contacted by the GNS said: “I will look into the matter.” (GNS)
